CFRP - Carbon fiber reinforced plastic

 

 

Carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), also known under the name of Carbon, is a lightweight material, which are composed of high-strength fibers embedded in a polymer matrix. Because of their advantageous properties, including high specific strength, corrosion resistance and fatigue resistance, CFRP products such as laminates have emerged as useful materials for numerous applications in the aerospace, automotive and construction industries. This research deals with the material-appropriate application of CFRP in the construction industry, especially for cable-prestressed lightweight structures such as cable-stayed bridges, roofs and facades.
