At the chair of conceptual and structural design at TU Berlin,
under the leadership of Prof. Dr. sc. techn. Mike Schlaich,
a multinational team of academics and researchers are working
on the following research topics.

• Light, Active and Transformable Systems in Construction Engineering, Bionic, Artificial Muscles and Foil, Cushion, Membrane
• Cables, Carbon Fiber, Bridges
• Infra-Lightweight Concrete, Concrete Truss Models

All machines and instruments of the institute are at the disposal
of the researchers. Communication and collaboration with academics from other departments and institutes is always encouraged.
